YOTEL NYC.

Yotel Moves to City Centres.

The ‘iPod of Hotels’, Yotel offers a highly customizable smartspace to its guests, but with efficient service at its heart. Famous for its airside hotels within international airports, Yotel wanted to grow into city centres with a new positioning that would see them offer more space, right in the centre of the action.

THE EVOLVED IDENTITY.

YOTEL NYC.

A SmartSpace for the Big Apple.

10th Avenue New York City was the first city centre location, and the proposition ‘SmartSpace’ was created to allow Yotel to be big, without losing its DNA.

LOCATION.

The Midtown Manhattan Project.

The site offered 13 floors in a tower near Columbia Circus. A vast foyer allowed secure automatic check-in, and a lift took guests to the 4th Floor, where a vast public space offered work, rest and dining spaces.

SIGNAGE SYSTEM.

The SmartSpace ‘Cube’ System.

More than 600 rooms were situated on 9 floors above and a simple, yet extensive signage system was required to endorse the SmartSpace concept, as well as providing a contemporary visual language inspired by the aesthetic of the interior.

PUBLIC SMARTSPACE.

Flexible and Futuristic.

The ‘iPod of Hotels’, Yotel offers a highly customizable smartspace to its guests, but with efficient service at its heart.

INTERIOR DESIGN BY SOFTROOM.

PRIVATE SMARTSPACE.

16 Sq.m of Smart Living.

Single rooms with an electronically reclining bed, light-sensitive lighting and shower rooms with a view of NYC were standard. Larger twin rooms offered bunk beds and suites offered the smartest space of all.

BAG CHECK-IN.

Meet YOBOT.

Check-in is automated via intelligent kiosks, and luggage is stowed by Yobot. Taken and then stored, the robot concierge can recall its location in seconds, perfect for long city layovers before flights. In Yobot’s downtime, he does a nice line in glass art with a bullet-tipped marker.
